Right now I am reviewing first pass pages for Wintersong and feeling that first bit of squee that comes with seeing my words in the process of being turned into a book. Y'all saw the interior designs in last month's newsletter, and they look even more gorgeous in person.

This is my last chance to review Wintersong before it goes to print, so I've been reading it aloud. Reading something out loud is a great way to catch typos, awkward phrasing, repetition, etc. The human brain often corrects mistakes as you're reading in your head, so errors can often go unmarked.1 I've been having a pretty good time reading Wintersong aloud though. One of my secret ambitions as a child was to become a voice actor, so I get super into it. I do my best Bowie impression for the Goblin King, and give Twig and Thistle Muppet voices.2

First pass pages also means that ARCs/galleys are on the horizon! o_O We should be seeing those in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for future giveaways!
