I started watching Euphoria after coming across a couple of YouTubers reacting to the series.

These days, a good 40% of my YouTube subscriptions are people turning on cameras and filming themselves mugging and making commentary over a blurred-to-avoid-copyright-strike footage of a movie, TV show, or BTS content. I’m not entirely sure when I found this part of YouTube, but I don’t hate it. For the most part, it has remained rather wholesome and lovely, and I am reminded quite a bit of going over to a friend’s house in high school to hang out and watching whatever was on TV with half-an-eye while we did each other’s makeup or talked about crushes or whatever. So many of my youthful friendships involved us going to each other’s houses and sharing our favorite things with each other. I learned about SMAP from Jenna, S Club 7 from Laura, The Slayers from Carly, The Vision of Escaflowne from Abby, and so on and so forth.1
