The cover for Shadowsong (Wintersong 2) has been revealed! Isn't it beautiful?

When my editor asked if I had any cover ideas or images for book 2, I sort of her sent her a string of gibberish:

I think keeping with the same overall theme and direction of book 1 is great, maybe different colors? Red, purple, and/or black? A major image in the book at the moment is poppies in the snow, poppies growing in impossible places. So maybe a poppy flower in the globe, surrounded by...dead things? Leaves? Darkness?

I am both stunned and pleased with how the designer interpreted my nonsense tone poem. I have been incredibly lucky with both my covers, and also with how much my publisher is willing to take my suggestions. (Most authors do not have cover approval.) It's so pretty!
