NaNoWriMo Day 12
Welcome to my little experiment, where I lift the curtain on my writing process during NaNoWriMo 2023 in an effort to feel less alone. If you’re also doing NaNoWriMo, feel free to add me as a buddy!
daily summary 📅
More than anything, I feel like NaNoWriMo is an exercise in commitment and boy, as someone with ADHD, my willpower is terrible. This fast drafting period is good and bad in many ways, and I feel like the next time I do this, I’m going to set aside weekends to rest and recover.
daily process ⏱️
6:35PM. It’s only half-past six and it already feels like 10PM. This is my least favorite part of the time change; I just feel like I should be in bed already.
Anyway, had training with Pollux this morning, which wiped me out as much as the dog. So now we are back to what feels like pulling an all-nighter, even though it’s not even 7PM yet!
7:19PM. Ordered Chinese food. I’m going to see if I can squeeze in some more words before I eat; I want to watch the Twin Flames documentary on Netflix before bed. 432 words. Ten more minutes and then I’m going to pick up my food.
7:44PM. Picked up the Chinese food. 493 words.
9:12PM. At food. Put the Twin Flames documentary on in the background as I write and every time I look up there’s another new weird bombshell revelation like WHAT. 682 words.
10:16PM. 1045 words. I could probably write these words faster if I wasn’t half involved in this Twin Flames documentary like a train wreck, I cannot look away.
10:51PM. 1562 words. I think I’m writing this chapter from the wrong POV, so I’m taking it as a sign to quit for the night. Good night!
That’s Day 12 of NaNoWriMo done! How about y’all? Any successes? Failures?
